Getting Closer

I can't believe how time is flying. My arms are really beginning to ache for my little boy. He will be here before we know it!

I went to the doctor last week, because I was having some cramping (everything is great with baby). We did go ahead and do an ultrasound - which I was perfectly fine with! My little, or should I say big, boy is measuring a week ahead everywhere except his head - which is measuring 3 weeks ahead! I just couldn't believe it. He has these fat cheeks, a big round belly, and hair on his head.. I absolutely cannot wait to see him. He looks perfect.

We had our 32 week appoinment today. We're still measuring ahead, but everything looks great. Mills' heart rate was 140 and sounded very strong. We even talked about when we may induce, which makes everything seem very, very real. Dr. Loncar is on call September 6th (which is our 2nd anniversary and also Labor Day - wouldn't that be ironic?) and the 16th. Of course I'm pulling for the 6th, and David ran home and looked up the Alabama football schedule. Typical.

Our house is full of excitement! We went looking at new cameras and video cameras today, and we are just counting down the minutes until Mills is here with us.

We are headed to Chattanooga this weekend with Callie and Stu for Katie Fogo's wedding. I am so excited and cannot wait to see all of my college buddies.

North Carolina

This past weekend David and I went to North Carolina with his parents and had an absolute blast. They are so sweet to take us on great vacations, and this was our last hoorah with them before little man gets here. It was a long trip on some curvy mountain roads, but Linda told me I laughed harder than she had ever heard me laugh before on the car ride. My father-in-law is quite the character and kept me cracking up the whole trip.

One of the waterfalls we saw on the way there:

On the ride there, Linda told us about a city in North Carolina named Brevard. There are white squirrels there that escaped from a circus truck. After some convincing (and checking the internet), we finally believed her. Our mission then became to find a white squirrel!
Linda asking where we could find one:

A sweet, young college boy overheard us asking and told us to look at Brevard College... Big David tipped him well for his information. When we first arrived at the college, all we saw was a grey squirrel. Big David wanted his money back, but after some hard searching, he finally found us a white squirrel!

The first 2 nights we stayed in Hendersonville, right outside of Ashville. It is the cutest city with a great downtown. They have these painted bears everywhere:
On Friday we went to the Biltmore. To say I was impressed is a huge understatement. I walked through the whole house with my mouth wide open. It is really something to see.

I was so proud of myself for making it through the whole house. It was extremely hot, and the house has no A/C. It was worth it!

On the way home, we stopped at the Ocoee River to watch a few rafters.

Thank you Big David and Linda for such an incredible trip!

Latest Happenings

My little man is just growing away. I only have 78 days to go! I am really getting ready to see his little face. We went last week for our 4-D ultrasound and 28 week check-up. Mills didn't cooperate, and we didn't get a single picture. In his defense, he looked pretty crowded already and just couldn't get enough room to give us a good shot.

Everything looked great, though, and we are just trucking along towards September. I passed my diabetes test (thank goodness) and got my Rhogam shot. Now I just need my baby! I will start going to the doctor every 2 weeks, and I can't believe at my visit next week I will be 30 weeks.

In other news, Kyle FINALLY popped the question, and Ragan is getting married!! I couldn't be happier for them. Kyle is one of my favorites, and I know they will be so happy together. They've already been together wayy longer than Dave and I. ha.

We knew it was bound to happen soon after Ragan caught the bouquet and Kyle caught the garter at Callie's wedding (Notice the garter in her hair). Kyle is one lucky man! Congrats Aunt Ragan!!

The Bahamas

I am late posting this, and all of these pictures are stolen from my sister's blogs. We did take a camera, but it stayed in my purse the entire trip...go figure!

Anyways, my sweet Granny took 20 of us the The Bahamas for a family vacation. Not going to lie-I was a little worried it would be extremely hectic and chaotic. I was pleasantly surprised! We had a blast. I was 26 weeks pregnant at the time, and I survived the heat. I spent most of my days in the pool or on the lazy river, but I had such a great time with my wonderful family.

Love the prom pose.. Mills was pretty quiet the entire trip. I guess because I was up moving around a lot more than normal. I did win almost $1100 on the slot machine, and he started bouncing around like crazy when I was screaming and doing my victory dance.

My oh-so-brave husband (as well as my brother-in-laws and father) went down the giant slide. I promised them I would have been right there with them if I wasn't pregnant...

The whole crew.. kinda.
David and I had gone to The Bahamas about a year ago with his parents. We found a local spot called The Fish Fry. They have the BEST food so we decided to take the whole family. While it was still delicious, I don't think their little Bahamian kitchens are equipped for 20 people at once. We were at dinner for several hours, but luckily there was a fun band to entertain the kids.
Dancing the night away at The Fish Fry.
Sweet Granny soaking it all in.
