5 Months

Wow, time is flying by! I want to remember what you're doing right now...
  • You effortlessly roll from back to tummy. However, you haven't quite gotten the hang of rolling back over. Once you get on your tummy (which is every 5 seconds), you scream until I roll you back over. You have rolled back several times, but you prefer to have someone do it for you.
  • You hate fruit! This is one of your quirks that still amazes me. Your favorite foods are green beans, green peas, squash, and carrots. You're one unique kid!
  • You sleep 7-7 every once and awhile, but still prefer to have your 2 am snack.
  • I had the idea to hang a mirror from your playmat last night. Should have thought of this earlier! One of your very favorite pastimes is to stare at yourself in the mirror... Another trait you got from your father! Whenever you get a glance of yourself, the biggest smile immediately spreads across that chubby little face.
  • Your personality is really coming through. You smile and giggle constantly. You also like to give sugar and hugs. I have such a sweet baby!
  • You communicate by grunting and growling... all the time.
  • When you get embarrased, you get a sheepish grin and bury your head on my shoulder.
  • You love to rub Daddy's scruff. Whenever he feeds you, you rub your hand back and forth across his face.

Two weeks ago, you had your first weekend alone with Daddy. He survived! I went on Ragan's bachelorette party (which was a blast!) Your dad is SO much help with you, and he was so sweet to keep you for a whole weekend. I got several, "How do you do this every day?" and "Do I need to get you a nanny?" texts, but overall it was a great weekend.

We had your baptism last weekend. You were an angel! Honestly, I couldn't have asked for you to be any sweeter. Pictures will come later, but it was such a special day. Pop baptised you, and your dad couldn't get over how wonderful it was that your great-grandfather baptised you. Terry had you cracking up during the service. The nursery workers said you played on every toy, and you were such a doll during lunch. We had 59 family members and friends to Mammy and Papa's house for lunch. They were so sweet to host your party.

First Valentine's Day

Roses are red,
violets are blue.
Don't tell your dad,
but I love you!

4 Months

Mills-

Where has the time gone? I cannot believe you are 4 months old already!
Yes, I realize you will both kill me for this picture done the road. I'm afraid there are many more cousin baths in your future, though.
I can't believe how big you are. You love your Bumbo and sitting up like a big boy. If I hold you in my lap, you immediately start grabbing onto me and pulling yourself up to a standing position.

This is your favorite toy. We stole it from Grandmother and Granddaddy's house after you kicked like crazy the first time we laid you in front of it. When you kick the bottom it makes toys spin above your head. You get so proud of yourself and think it's just hilarious every time you kick it.

You have become OBSESSED with your dad. When I hold you, you strain and strain until you can see him, then you just stare at him. Even though I get a little jealous, it's pretty precious. I have to admit he feels the exact same way about you.

Another one of your favorites - your Johnny Jump-Up. You just kinda hang right now and move back and forth a little, but you love it.

I promise you wear clothes and not just pajamas all the time. You have had a stomach bug for 4 days now, and you also have two teeth coming in. (We just keep breaking all kinds of interesting medical standards). Even though we've both been spending a lot of time in pjs, you've been such an angel. I cannot stand that you feel bad, but you've been so sweet and loving. Also, thanks to Aunt Emily for your duck. You love to rub him on your face and snuggle with him.

This smile still melts my heart each and every time you flash me one... which is about every 2 seconds. Don't get me wrong, especially through this illness and teething, you still have your screaming moments, but for the most part you are such a happy baby.
You've gotten to the point where you will "talk" to me and make razzing noises when I do. I'm sure if someone walked into our house, they would think I was insane (note the previous video). I am constantly singing loudly or making crazy noises to get a giggle out of you.
Our 4 month "well" visit has been pushed to next week due to the bug, so stats will come later. We also go Monday to the allergist--it's gonna be a rough week!

Cracking Up

Turning 4 months old is soo funny! You also rolled over today for the first time. You haven't done it again, but at least I know you can do it.
