Making Room for Baby

Our crib finally came in yesterday, so with some help from our good friends, Charlie and Ashley, Mills now has somewhere to sleep. I must admit it feels pretty strange to see a crib in our house. It makes it seem more real, and I couldn't be more excited.

The nursery still has a ways to go, but we are slowly making progress. Hopefully it will be finished by September!

A Mary Bibb Quote

Mary Bibb, "Aunt Birdie, I think that you should swallow some itty bitty boy toys so that Mills has something to play with."

Lane Clark Willis

My precious nephew Lane was born April 22nd. He was 20 inches long and weighed 7 lbs. 7 ounces. He is an angel! I love that fact that Lane and Mills will be so close in age. I know they will be big buddies. I also love that Dalinda is now a stay-at-home mom. I see us spending lots of time together!

Buck is such a proud and sweet big brother.

Halfway Done

I cannot believe I am halfway through my pregnancy! Mills will be here before I know it, and I absolutely can't wait. I had my 20 week ultrasound and check-up Monday, and everything looked great. God is so good! Mills weighs 12 ounces (almost a pound) and is about 10.5 inches long. No wonder I have felt him every day since he was 18 weeks. It is the most incredible thing I've ever experienced. Pretty much everyone in my family has felt him now. I'll never forget the first time Dave felt him. We were laying in bed (around 18.5 weeks), and I pulled his hand over to my stomach. Mills literally did a somersault, and Dave's eyes got huge. He just stared at his hand in disbelief. David has been so cute and is still amazed every time he feels a good kick.

During the ultrasound Mills gave us a big yawn. He must be like his mom and 10 o'clock is just too early for him! Both of my parents came to the ultrasound. My dad had never been to one, and I thought he may need to see the "boy parts" with his own two eyes to believe that the baby truly is a boy. I loved watching him experience his first ultrasound. He kept saying, "I can't see it" when the technician was measuring everything. Then she showed all of the baby, and we were all amazed.

His heart rate was 146.

Here are some of our sneak peeks:

I'm thinking the boy is going to have some long legs and big ole' feet!

Granny and Ginny went to Eloise & Henry yesterday and got him about the cutest outfit I have ever seen. I had to post it!

Thanks Granny! I can't wait to see my little man toddling around in this next summer.

Callie's Wedding

Callie and Stu got married on April 24th...yes, I'm a little late. It was just perfect, although the weather tried to not cooperate. It was such a fun weekend of wedding activities.

Bridesmaid luncheon:

The rehearsal dinner was at the Ledges. The food was amazing, the toasts hilarious, and the flowers gorgeous. It was such a special night.

Callie asked me to make their rehearsal dinner slideshow. It was very time consuming, but I was happy to help make the night memorable.

Some of my favorite pictures from the wedding:

Callie looked beautiful, of course.

Callie and her precious flower girl, Rowan.

It was so good to see old friends.

It's always such a proud moment when Dave gets on stage with Juice. It's especially entertaining without a glass of wine! He has pulled his act out of "retirement" several times now. Let's just hope this doesn't come out at Mills' graduation!

The happy couple

It was such an honor to be Callie's maid of honor. I still can't believe my best friend married a Decatur boy and will live close to me. I feel so blessed and love them both so much!
